A country bar that was featured in several series is now co-owned by a former star of the television serial Heartbeat.
The Goathland Hotel in the North York Moors was purchased by two local merchants, according to Tricia Penrose, who portrayed barmaid Gina Ward in the ITV series for eighteen years.
The Goathland building served as the Aidensfield Arms in the 1992–2010 film Heartbeat, which drew millions of viewers.
Penrose described herself as the hotel’s “proud owner” in an Instagram post announcing the relocation.
Heartbeat took place in a fictional Yorkshire village in the 1960s and starred Nick Berry, Derek Fowlds, and Bill Maynard.
The writings of Peter Walker, who wrote under the pen name Nicholas Rhea, served as its inspiration.
Goathland, which serves as the fictional Aidensfield, is still a well-liked tourist resort.
“I have some exciting news to announce,” Penrose said on social media. “I am now the proud owner along with two local businessmen of The Goathland Hotel, also known as The Aidensfield Arms, where I played Gina Ward for eighteen years.”
The Richardson family had operated the Goathland Hotel for over 40 years.
The owners of the pub claim that many of the show’s pub scenes were shot there before a copy of the inside was constructed.
All exterior shots continued to be taken at the actual tavern.
The company was operated by Keith and Jean Richardson and their daughter Hannah.
“Proud to have been custodians all this time,” they stated in announcing the transfer of ownership.a period in which the hospitality sector is facing more difficulties and upheavals than ever before.
“That’s all before the total one-off of running a building with a film crew round every corner, an experience never to be repeated.”
After purchasing a renowned North Yorkshire pub made famous in one of the most successful television programs, a star of the small screen has returned to familiar ground.

The announcement ushers in a new era for the York Stone Pub in the charming village of the same name on the North York Moors, where a lot of village activities and rural crimes were discussed.
Tricia Penrose, who played Gina Ward in the TV series, announced the news on Instagram, saying, “I have some exciting news to announce.”
“I am now the proud owner of The Goathland Hotel, also known as The Aidensfield Arms, where I played Gina Ward for eighteen years, along with two local businessmen.
“Gina is returning home! Whoa! In order to inform you about upcoming events, etc., I will be creating a YouTube channel.
“Next Tuesday, the 28th, starting around 11:00, I will be over there in my pub.”
Heartbeat fans and tourists have long been drawn to the iconic bar in Goathland, on the North York Moors. Before being sold to Penrose and her business associates, it was owned by the same family for more than 41 years.
Many of the elements from Heartbeat are still present today, and the majority of the interior sequences in the tavern were shot there. Due of its popularity, Heartbeat fans from all over the world flock to The Goathland Hotel thousands of times a year.
Filmed in North Yorkshire and set in the fictional community of Aidensfield, Heartbeat went on to become one of ITV’s most watched dramas. As portrayed in the show, the Aidensfield Arm served as a focal point for village life, and Penrose’s Gina Ward was a beloved character.
