Due to a problem on board, a flight from Manchester Airport had to make a “urgent” detour.
On Tuesday, July 28, the easyJet flight to Copenhagen departed as scheduled. However, the flight had to be diverted to Newcastle soon after takeoff.
EasyJet stated that a passenger “needing urgent medical attention” was the reason for the urgent detour. When the plane touched down in Newcastle, emergency personnel were there to greet it.
The flight proceeded to Copenhagen when the passenger was transferred to the doctors’ vehicle. “Flight EZY2237 from Manchester to Copenhagen yesterday diverted to Newcastle due to a customer onboard requiring urgent medical attention,” an easyJet representative stated.
“The flight proceeded to Copenhagen after the customer was greeted by medical personnel upon landing. EasyJet’s top focus is always the security and well-being of our passengers and employees.
Shortly after takeoff, an EasyJet flight headed for Copenhagen declared an emergency and diverted to Newcastle Airport.
Yesterday, July 28, flight EZY2237 departed Manchester Airport at 7:46 p.m., about an hour later than planned.
Instead of arriving in Copenhagen at 9:45 p.m., the plane diverted to Newcastle Airport, where it made a safe landing.
After leaving Newcastle at 10.13 p.m., it arrived in Copenhagen three hours later at 12.30 a.m.
“We’re very sorry that your flight has now been diverted,” easyJet stated in a post-diversion passenger update.
“A passenger welfare concern is the reason for this. “The disruption to your flight is outside of our control and is considered to be an extraordinary circumstance.”
