In an emergency response to reports of reckless and antisocial driving on the M11, police seized 13 supercars. On Tuesday, July 28, around 4:20 p.m., the high-performance vehicles—which included Lamborghinis, Audi R8s, Ferraris, and Porsches—joined the motorway from North East London.
Concerned members of the public promptly sent several reports to Essex Police’s control center while the caravan was heading north. Witnesses reported witnessing drivers speeding at “excessive speed” and then “slowing down suddenly.” They also reported seeing drivers brake hard, group together, obstruct traffic, and use the hard shoulder to pass other automobiles.
The cars were found by police at services at Junction 8, which is close to Stansted Airport. Thirteen automobiles were impounded after police issued thirteen warnings for driving in an antisocial manner.
“A number of offences have been identified for investigation and further enquiries are ongoing,” an Essex Police representative continued.
“The behaviour reported to us was not only anti-social but potentially put other road users at serious risk, especially on a busy motorway during peak travel times,” stated Sergeant Will Willsher.
Officers from the Roads Policing Unit moved fast to find the vehicles and implement the necessary enforcement measures.
“Speed limits are there to keep everyone safe and the law applies equally to all road users.”
Essex Police are requesting that anyone with dash cam footage who saw the cars heading north on the M11 at the time of the incident come forward.
Anyone with dash cam recordings, video footage, or information should call Essex Police at 101.
Following reports of risky and antisocial driving on the M11, police have confiscated thirteen high-performance supercars.
On Tuesday, July 28, at around 4:20 p.m., the vehicles—which included Lamborghinis, Audi R8s, Ferraris, and Porsches—were spotted heading north on the road after arriving from London.
Witnesses reported the drivers speeding up, abruptly braking hard, and using the hard shoulder to pass other drivers.
Additionally, they claimed to have witnessed the drivers of the vehicles “bunching together,” which interfered with traffic.
At Junction 8, close to Bishop’s Stortford and Stansted Airport, Essex police pulled over the drivers and gave them warnings for driving in an antisocial manner.
Since then, they have stated that several other crimes have been found and are currently being looked at.
“The behaviour reported to us was not only anti-social, but potentially placed other road users at serious risk, especially on a busy motorway during peak travel times,” stated Sergeant Will Willsher. “Roads Policing Unit officers acted quickly to locate the cars and take appropriate enforcement action.”

Witnesses are being urged to come forward by Essex Police.
