Calum Adamson, a midfielder for Rangers, says he is “over the Moon” about going on loan to Raith Rovers for the current William Hill Championship football season.
The 19-year-old made his Fifers debut on Saturday eight minutes into their 2-1 victory away to Queen’s Park, replacing Arron Lyall, who was forced off due to a hamstring injury. Last season, the Glaswegians loaned him out to Alloa Athletic, where he played 34 games and helped them finish fourth in William Hill League One.
The age-grade Scottish international, who has not yet made a first-team debut for the Old Firm squad, told the Kirkcaldy club’s website, “I’m over the Moon to sign for Raith Rovers.”

Dougie showed a great deal of interest, as did a few other teams. Dougie and I had a couple one-on-one conversations, and what he told me about the standards, their goals for this season, and where I fit in stood out to me.
I consider myself to be a player that understands both sides of the game. I like the physical aspect of football, and I have those responses and tackles when I lose the ball.
“At the same time, I can get my foot on the ball and find a pass because I have a little bit of poise.”

A Rangers representative wished Adamson luck in Fife, saying, “He will now make the step up to the second tier with the Stark’s Park outfit, where fellow midfielder Paul Nsio benefitted from a successful loan spell last term.”

“Raith are delighted to announce the loan signing of Calum Adamson from Rangers until the end of the season,” a Raith official said, welcoming Adamson to Kirkcaldy.
After a successful stint at Alloa Athletic last season, Calum is a gifted midfielder who will provide skill and energy to the team as he continues to earn priceless first-team experience.
He has represented Scotland at the under-19 level and has made an impression at every stage of his development with Rangers.

The midfield player, who turns 19 today, had a stellar loan stint at Alloa Athletic last season, making over 30 appearances.
With the Stark’s Park team, where fellow midfielder Paul Nsio benefited from a fruitful loan spell last season, he will now move up to the second division.
