As it continues to remove locations from its estate, Card Center, which was purchased by the family-run business Cardzone, is scheduled to close its Newport location. Paul Taylor created Cardzone in 2004. The company expanded into Northern Ireland after acquiring Card Centre in 2014 as part of a deal comprising 14 locations throughout Wales.
The business has shut down a number of locations since 2023, including those in Beeston, Blackpool, Chesterfield, King’s Lynn, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Reigate, Scunthorpe, and Stroud.
