According to authorities, a 44-ton truck was seen travelling at 85 mph on the A55 yesterday, Thursday. As traffic cops warn of the risks associated with speeding, the driver of the articulated truck has been reported for a summons.
“During speed enforcement activity on the A55 at Broughton yesterday afternoon, one of the team members recorded a 44-tonne articulated HGV travelling at 85mph,” according to a statement from the North Wales Police Roads Policing Unit.
“Additional infractions pertaining to the driver’s tachograph and the lack of a current Driver CPC qualification were found during additional investigations. “Excessive speed by any vehicle poses a significant risk to all road users, but especially when involving vehicles of this size and weight.”
The driver has been reported for summons. In order to increase road safety and lower the likelihood of catastrophic collisions, enforcement actions will continue throughout North Wales.
