Bradley Walsh, the host of The Chase, stated he has some acting projects in the works that will take him away from one of his quiz shows, Blankety Blank. Walsh may have just got his wish fulfilled after appealing with friend Chris Chibnall for a role in the TV adaptation of Death at the White Hart.
Walsh, who is now on television with The Chase Around the World, has stated that he “[does] not have the time” to return to Blankety Blank this year.
“The problem is that we are only performing Gladiators. He told Radio Times, “I go to rehearsals for the live Prat Pack show after getting a week off.”
“I take The Prat Pack back on the road for a month, and then I would normally go straight into Blankety Blank. “However, what I’m going to do right now is that I have other plans that I can’t yet disclose. I genuinely don’t have the time because we’re working on a few plays and scripting.”
Walsh called Blankety Blank “one of his favourite shows” and hinted at a potential comeback “next year.”
I’ve liked Blankety Blank, so it’s unfortunate that I don’t have the time. He remarked, “It’s been one of my favourite shows, and it’s been brilliant. It really makes me laugh.” I just couldn’t work on it right now, even though it’s the most enjoyable thing you can do in the studio. I would typically visit the studio in October, but I’m completely booked up in October and November, so I just don’t have the time. Maybe next year.”
Walsh and Chris Chibnall, the creator of Broadchurch and former showrunner of Doctor Who, went to a book launch at Waterstones Piccadilly earlier this month. The quiz presenter formally asked his long-time friend, with whom he had collaborated on Law & Order: UK, for a part in Death at the White Hart during the conversation.
A murder mystery set in Dorset, ITV’s adaptation of Chibnall’s own book was released last year. It follows Detective Nicola Bridge as she returns home after spending years in the big city, only to become involved in the local publican’s death.

“I thought he was a great character,” Walsh continued. Guys like him, I know. Alternatively, I was considering turning young Harry into a 66-year-old quiz show host who works as a police officer in his own time.
Despite his passion for the 2026 Blankety Blank comeback, the TV host will not be returning to lead it.
He clarified that scheduling issues and a full schedule of other projects were the reasons behind the decision.
He told Radio Times, “The problem is that we’re just doing Gladiators. I get a week off and then I go to rehearsals for the live Prat Pack show.”
“I usually jump straight into Blankety Blank after taking The Prat Pack back on the road for a month.
“We’re working on a couple of dramas and scripting, and I actually do not have the time.” “But right now, what I’m going to do is I have other stuff which I can’t announce at the moment.”
Blankety Blank is “one of my favourite shows,” according to Walsh, who has been hosting the game show since its most recent resurrection in 2021. However, he stated that his present schedule just doesn’t allow him to continue at this time.
“It’s been brilliant,” he remarked. “Blankety Blank has been brilliant.”

Rumour has it that Walsh’s decision to step away for 2026 has delayed the show from going into production this year.
Blankety Blank has been put on hold for the time being as a result.
