Due to health concerns, a variety of chocolate products that were sold in England, Scotland, and Wales have been taken from UK shelves.
Due to the concerns, Bon Bons Wholesale Ltd. recalled a number of chocolate goods and instructed retailers to “remove them from sale,” while the Food Standards Agency (FSA) advised consumers to “do not eat.”
The products have been recalled because they may contain soy and milk, which are not listed on the label and could pose a health concern to allergy sufferers.
“These products contain milk and soya, making them a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents and/or an allergy to soya,” an FSA spokesman stated.
The following products from Bon Bons Wholesale Ltd. are impacted by the recall:
- The best before dates for this medium-colored ladybird are March 1, 2027, and January 16, 2028.
- The best before dates for this small red ladybird are January 21, 2027, and January 25, 2027.
- The best before dates for this large red heart are November 22, 2027, December 23, 2027, and December 26, 2027.
- The best-before dates for little butterflies are March 21, 2027, and September 9, 2027.
- August 15, 2027 is the best before date for this sports car.
“Bon Bons Wholesale Ltd is recalling the above products from customers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall,” an FSA spokesperson stated.
Customers have also received a point-of-sale notice from the business. Customers can read these notices to learn why the products are being recalled and what to do if they have already purchased them.
“Do not consume the aforementioned items if you have a soy or milk allergy. For a complete refund, send them back to the retailer where you bought them.
“We take our responsibility to consumers extremely seriously and always aim to ensure the highest possible standards of product safety,” a statement from Bon Bons Wholesale Ltd. continued.
“We apologise for any inconvenience or disappointment this product recall may have caused you.”
A product recall: what is it?
A food product may be “withdrawn” (removed off the shelves) or “recalled” (when customers are asked to return the goods) if there is a fault that makes it unfit for sale.
To inform consumers and local authorities about food-related risks, the FSA publishes Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices.
A “Food Alert for Action” may be issued in certain situations.
This gives local authorities specifics about what has to be done on behalf of customers.

Five of its chocolate products are being recalled by the top UK provider of high-end confectionary and luxury sweet treats due to the presence of undeclared milk and soy, which are not listed on the label.
